Salaries vary by establishment and area. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) figures show that full-time gaming managers got a median annual amount of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest 10 % earned less than $26,630, and the highest ten percent earned just over $96,610.

Gaming supervisors look over gaming operations and staff in an assigned area. Circulating among the game tables, they see that all stations and games are taken care of for each shift. It also is accepted for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating laws for members. Supervisors will also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have clear leadership qualities and top notch communication skills. They need these skills both to supervise workers adequately and to greet guests in order to encourage return visits. Just about all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. Regardless of their educational background, however, most supervisors gain experience in other casino occupations before moving into supervisory positions because knowledge of games and casino operations is quite essential for these employees.
