The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a risk at the current time, so you might think that there would be very little affinity for visiting Zimbabwe’s gambling halls. In reality, it seems to be working the opposite way around, with the crucial market conditions leading to a bigger desire to gamble, to try and locate a quick win, a way from the crisis.

For almost all of the locals living on the meager nearby money, there are two common forms of wagering, the national lotto and Zimbet. As with practically everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lotto where the chances of hitting are remarkably low, but then the prizes are also remarkably large. It’s been said by financial experts who look at the idea that many don’t purchase a card with the rational assumption of hitting. Zimbet is centered on either the local or the UK football leagues and involves predicting the results of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, on the other hand, look after the astonishingly rich of the country and tourists. Up till a short while ago, there was a very large sightseeing business, centered on safaris and visits to Victoria Falls. The market collapse and connected crime have carved into this trade.

Amongst Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree Casino, which has just the slot machines. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only one armed bandits. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer gaming tables, one armed bandits and video machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, both of which has video poker machines and tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens and the aforementioned talked about lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a parimutuel betting system), there are a total of 2 horse racing complexes in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Seeing as that the economy has diminished by more than 40 percent in the past few years and with the connected deprivation and conflict that has cropped up, it isn’t well-known how well the sightseeing business which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the near future. How many of the casinos will carry on till things get better is basically not known.
