There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is banned. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences in addition to the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
