There are numerous gambling halls located in the commonwealth, the majority on moored scows. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gambling room, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; including three eatery’s, daily productions, and gaming lessons. Another large American Indian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. One more Iowa water based gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday vingt-et-un tournaments.

Iowa casinos provide an excellent deal of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has permitted the bankrolling of a good many state wide projects. Visitors have grown at an accelerated percentage accompanied with the request for companies and a gain in employment. Iowa gambling dens have been instrumental to the expansion of the market, and the affection for betting in Iowa is absolute.
